The Cowal Highland Gathering was held in Dunoon last Saturday. It wasn't quite as Northern Irelandish as worlds, but still many of the firsts went to bands from Northern Ireland.

Field Marshal Montgomery won the Grade 1 Championship with The House of Edgar - Shotts and Dykehead as runners up. The Best Drum Corps in Grade 1 was awarded to The House of Edgar - Shotts and Dykehead.

In the Scandinavian contingency The Murray Pipes & Drums of Gothenburg placed 7:th in grade 4B, and Holbæk Pipe Band placed 15:th in grade 3A.

The official site is here, and the full results are here.

World Pipe Band Championships

The 2004 Word Pipe Band Championships were held in Glasgow last Saturday. Interesting results this year, since first place in all grades (except for the juvenile competitions) went to bands from Northern Ireland. Grade 1 champions are Field Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band. You can find the full results here (requires log in), or here.

Give me more pictures!

As you can see, I managed to find some of the pictures for the front page in the Wayback Machine. But what would be nice is if every band could send a good picture of themselves at a competition or a gig somewhere. Then I could rotate these on the frontpage and give some visibility to you all.
