The Pipe Majors' Club (of Scandinavia)

The Pipe Majors' Club is a club for Scandinavian pipe-majors. The requirement to be eligible as a member is to have led a Scandinavian pipe band competing in the Scandinavian Pipe Band Championships.

The club was reformed in 2006 from The Former Pipe Majors' Club, where only former pipe-majors were allowed as members.

The annual general meeting of the club is held every year in the autumn. At this meeting the highest executive of the club is elected – the senior pipe-major.

At the meeting at Stig Bang-Mortensen's old rustic house in Tønder 1 October 2011, the following members participated: Bob Kilgour, Kaj Larssen, Peter Scheel, Mats d Hermansson, Christian Wessman, Thomas Whitelaw, Stig Bang-Mortensen and Ib M.C. Nielsen.

Christian was appointed Senior Pipe Major for 2011-2012.

PS: Stig's wife, Susanne, told us that we behaved very well and were very quiet compared to some of Stig's other friends from the Danish folk music community.
