The winner of the 2009 PBAS Composition Quaich

Here is the winning tune of the 2009 PBAS Composition Quaich: Autumn Tour by Sune Harboe Larsen.

Now you drummers have until CWC 2010 to compose suitable drum scores to this tune.

Cowal Highland Gathering

The Cowal Highland Gathering was held in Dunoon last Saturday. It wasn't quite as Northern Irelandish as worlds, but still many of the firsts went to bands from Northern Ireland.

Field Marshal Montgomery won the Grade 1 Championship with The House of Edgar - Shotts and Dykehead as runners up. The Best Drum Corps in Grade 1 was awarded to The House of Edgar - Shotts and Dykehead.

In the Scandinavian contingency The Murray Pipes & Drums of Gothenburg placed 7:th in grade 4B, and Holbæk Pipe Band placed 15:th in grade 3A.

World Pipe Band Championships

The 2004 Word Pipe Band Championships were held in Glasgow last Saturday. Interesting results this year, since first place in all grades (except for the juvenile competitions) went to bands from Northern Ireland. Grade 1 champions are Field Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band.
